Converting a DVD VRO file from my CamcorderI had this problem the other day: Someone sent me a DVD from his camcorder recently of an event we’d both been at. He wanted me to edit the video so that we could distribute it to our friends. Anyway, this is the first time I’d seen one of these small DVDs as my camcorder is tape based. What I didnt realise was that the format is odd. I assumed that it would be recorded as an MPG or VOC file or even AVI. but no. it was an odd format that my video editing software didnt recognise. I tried various methods.. different PCs with different editing software, then ended up searching the web for anyone else who had the same problem. So, to cut a long story short. I came across VideoReDo. I downloaded the demo and set it to work. Works a treat, and converted my DVD VRO files to MPG, which I could then edit down using Sony Vegas. I thought I’d share this info as it might help someone else... VIDEOREDO PLUS is the software and it has a 15 day trial which was fine for my once only need.
